The Cannon and Cannon Ventures

LAWSON GOW

FOUNDER & CEO
The Cannon, Cannon Ventures

After graduating from Rice University in 2013, Lawson joined the global VC group, KPMG Capital. However, he soon realized Houston was lacking the infrastructure and resources startups needed to thrive and decided he was going to change that. On November 5th, 2017 his idea came to fruition when we officially opened the doors of The Cannon and on May 24th 2018, Cannon Ventures. In Lawson’s free time he dabbles in poetry, serves as a little league coach, and enjoys a smooth old fashioned. If you’re looking for Lawson, it’s a safe bet he’s either in a Lyft, visiting his favorite tea shop, hanging out in The Cannon main space, or spending time with his wife Lauren and adorable dog Truman.

BRAD TRUE

The Cannon, Cannon Ventures

Following a winding career in the sports world that featured stops at the Houston Texans, the University of Louisville, The 2016 Final Four and Professional Sports Partners, Brad joined The Cannon in December 2017 and now oversees marketing, branding, creative, external outreach and community partnerships as well as the overall day to day operations of the space. A graduate of Texas A&M in 2008 and Oklahoma in 2010, Brad enjoys pretty much anything outside, including attempting to visit every major National Park in the US, and also aims to go on (and win) Survivor one day.

MAIGEN BERG

As her love for the city grew, she made a commitment to work with companies within the city and now oversees the day to day operations and management of Cannon Ventures as well as strategic partnerships for both The Cannon and Cannon Ventures.
